Presentations
With so much has been reported in the local and national news media these day about the real estate and mortgage industries it is hard to know what is truth and what is hype. All of the conflicting news reports, constantly changing lending guidelines and new state regulations can be confusing to even the most seasoned real estate professional.
To combat this confusion and often-negative information my company offers a brief educational presentation for real-estate professionals about the current state of the mortgage industry. This presentation is intended to be a complement to a regular weekly office sales meeting but can be scheduled for any time during business hours.
Our presentation can be tailored to run between 15 and 30 minutes, depending on the length of time available, and can leave time for a question-and-answer session afterwards if you so desire.
The high points of the presentation are:
- What is the current "mortgage crisis"?
- An explanation of the market forces that led to the current conditions in the mortgage and real estate industries.
- How the above situation has affected the local and national housing markets.
- Why this current period in real estate is really part of a larger, cyclical pattern.
- Why the real estate industry is not experiencing as big of a "crisis" as the media will have us believe.
- What national and local legislative trends that are on the horizon that will impact mortgages and real estate.
- How your agents can prepare for those changes.
Our talk is co-presented by Jason Bloom, the chairman of Elliott Bay Mortgage. Jason has over 16 years of experience in the mortgage industry. He serves as a commissioner on the Washington State Mortgage Broker Commission and is the President of the Washington Association of Mortgage Professionals. Jason has recently been quoted in Money Magazine, KIRO Radio, The Puget Sound Business Journal, and the Everett Herald.
With your agents constantly facing questions from their clients concerning the state of the mortgage industry this presentation is an excellent way for your agents to gain a bit of knowledge about the current housing and mortgage situation and be better equipped to provide honest answers for their buyers and sellers.
